TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Fibrillator machine is suitable for film widths 600mm, 800mm and 1000mm.

Machine base fabricated throughout from mild steel plate with folded section to reinforce the load bearing point.

Film is conveyed through the machine by means of a pair of power driven nip rollers. The lower roller is manufactured from solid drawn carbon steel tubing with a hard industrial chrome finish.

The upper roller is manufactured from steel tubing with an outer sleeve of high conductivity neoprene rubber.
Pneumatic cylinders support the nip roller and a variable air pressure regular controls the nip pressure.
Drive to the rollers is by means of a variable speed DC motor with Thyristor control.

The Fibrillator roller is manufactured from steel tube with milled slots to accept Fibrillator pin bars.
The pin bars are held in place by means of clamping screws and can be easily removed for maintenance purposes.

The Fibrillator roller is mounted in heavy-duty ball bearing units and power is provided by means of a variable speed DC motor with Thyristor control.

The Thyristor drive is linked by means of closed loop tachogenerator control to the feed roller drive motor to maintain fibrillation pattern.

Adjustable control roller manufactured from solid drawn carbon steel tube with a hard industrial chrome surface, mounted on a swinging bracket to allow the angle of contact between the film and the Fibrillator roller to be adjusted to give the requisite fibrillation pattern.

The roller can be retracted from the operation position to allow easy threading-up of the system.

Fixed guards are provided in front of the nip rollers to prevent operatorâs hands entering the nips.

The machine is finished in synthetic enamel.

The machine is intended to be used in existing tape extrusion lines and should be placed immediately after the second Godet unit.
