Evaporator Evaporation is the process in which from one end solution is being entered in diluted form and at the other end it comes out in liquid but in concentrated form. This dilute to concentration is being converted by applying heat by any means, vapour separator and other instruments between these two end. This single stage evaporation is very costly. Looking to the requirement and solution at present multistage system is used in which its vapour energy of the one stage is used for the next stage where the liquid is still to be concentrated. There are various types of evaporators.
Fluid Bed Dryer These dryers have a bed a solid particles which are fluidized by passing a stream of air or gas upward through a specially perforated sheet. The upward velocity of air is so maintained so as to slightly lifts the solid particles and set thim in motion. This motion can be utilized to bring about mixing as well as forward moment of the solid. The air organ is heated and heat is utilized to dry the solid. Fines get agglomerated to large particle ls this providing large size granules.
Rotary Atomizer This one is also rotating at high speed. At the end of the shaft one perforated disc is provided in which liquid is being splashed toward the chamber and coming in to the contact of hot air, resulting in dry powder.
Nozzle Conversion of the feed in to fine droplets is achieved by pumping the feed under high pressure through an orifice. Nozzle atomization is popularly used to produce coarse droplets resulting in large granule particles.

A Spin Flash Dryer produces powder from feed which is viscous or gelatinous in nature, paste or filter cake. The two step process involves disintegration of the feed and drying of disintegrated feed. Depending up on the nature of the feed material. The disintegrated material is brought in contact with the hot drying media which dries the particles and also pneumatically conveys it for separation in a cyclone or bag filter.
